More information about joining NASAP and our different membership types...

Joining NASAP is as simple as completing the appropriate membership application below and paying your dues. NASAP has several different kinds of memberships because of different needs of its members. Perhaps the hardest part is figuring out what type of membership is best for you.

Different people have different needs and so we have different types of memberships for different situations. Most of our members are professionals of one type or another (counselors, psychologists, coaches, teachers, professors, social workers, etc.) and so will choose to be Professional Members of NASAP.  Some of our members are retired and on fixed income and so we have a reduced rate for our Retired Members.  Some households have more than one member and don't want duplicate copies of the Journal, and so we have a Family Members. Some of our members are full time students and are also on a fixed or limited income and so we have a reduced rate for Student Members.  All of these members are General Members of NASAP.

Some people just want to associate with NASAP and take advantage of some of our discounts as well as join in Sections, so we have Associate Members. Associate Members do not vote, cannot hold elected offices, and also do not receive the Journal but they are kept informed with the newsletter and contribute to the purposes of NASAP.

And finally, we have Affiliate Organization Memberships for grass roots organizations that want to associate with NASAP.  Affiliate Organizations need to be chartered or incorporated, need to have By-Laws and also a statement of Purpose. Their applications must be approved by the Board of Directors since they take on such an important role within NASAP. Once approved by the Board of Directors, Affiliate Organizations can offer training and workshops in cooperation with NASAP's Professional Development Committee for continuing education credit through NBCC, following the procedures outlined by the Professional Development Committee.

If you have any difficulty in this area, please call the office at (989)572-6854 or email us at [email protected] and we will be glad to help you.

We offer parity in our fees for membership and conference registration between Canadian and U.S. currency. Please contact us directly when joining or renewing if you would like this option.
